About
I'm Richard Ahroon, a board certified internist and hospitalist based in Karlstad, Sweden, with an active part time clinical practice in the United States. I'm a dual U.S. and Swedish citizen and trained in bioengineering before medicine.
My daily work is inpatient hospital medicine: admissions, cross cover, ICU co management, point of care ultrasound, and the full arc of an acute care stay.
Floviken is where I build experiments at the intersection of medicine, AI, and bioengineering. The projects start with problems I encounter or questions that interest me as a physician, from EMR workflows and clinical decision support to models of human physiology. I use them to explore where new technology can genuinely help clinicians, where it cannot, and how medical judgment and evidence should remain central as these tools develop.
Personal work on personal time. Not used in patient care. Views my own.
